Policies
1. Editorial Policy
IJEES follows a strict editorial screening process. All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editorial Office for scope fit and basic technical quality. The Editor-in-Chief then assigns the paper to an Associate Editor to manage the peer-review process. IJEES prides itself on transparency; we encourage authors to provide full experimental details to ensure reproducibility, and we impose no word or page limits on submissions.
2. Open Access Policy
IJEES is a Gold Open Access journal. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license. This means:
-
Users are free to read, download, copy, distribute, and print the full texts of the articles.
-
The authors retain copyright but grant IJEES the right of first publication.
3. Peer Review Policy
We employ a Double-Blind Peer Review process.
-
Both the reviewer and the author identities are concealed.
-
Each paper is reviewed by at least two independent experts.
-
The final decision (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject) rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
4. Authorship Criteria
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study.
-
Corresponding Author: Acts as the main contact and ensures all co-authors have approved the final version.
-
Ghost/Gift Authorship: IJEES strictly prohibits the inclusion of authors who did not contribute or the exclusion of those who did.
5. Anti-Plagiarism Policy
IJEES has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism.
-
All submissions are screened using iThenticate or Turnitin upon submission.
-
If plagiarism (including self-plagiarism/text recycling) is detected, the manuscript will be rejected immediately, and the authors' institution may be notified.
6. Conflict of Interest (COI)
All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence their work.
-
Examples: Employment, consultancies, stock ownership, or honoraria.
-
If no conflict exists, authors must state: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."
7. Data Sharing Policy
To support reproducibility, IJEES encourages authors to archive their raw data in a public repository (e.g., Zenodo, Figshare, or Dryad) and link to it in their manuscript. If data cannot be shared publicly, authors must provide a "Data Availability Statement" explaining why.
8. Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access)
Authors are encouraged to deposit all versions of their paper (Preprint, Accepted Manuscript, and Published Version) in their institutional or subject-based repository at any time, provided they include a link to the original published article on the IJEES website.
9. AI Use Policy
-
Writing Assistance: Authors may use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to improve the readability or grammar of the text. However, AI cannot be listed as an author.
-
Disclosure: Authors must disclose the use of AI in a dedicated section or the Acknowledgments.
-
Responsibility: The human authors are ultimately responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the content produced by AI.
10. Publishing Ethics & Handling of Malpractice
IJEES follows the COPE Core Practices.
-
Corrections/Retractions: If errors are found post-publication, IJEES will issue a Correction or Retraction notice following COPE guidelines.
-
Misconduct: In cases of alleged research misconduct (data fabrication, falsification), the journal will conduct an investigation and may ban authors from future submissions.
